The ambassadors of France, Germany, and Britain met at the Russian Foreign Ministry on Thursday, but the reason for the meeting was not provided.
Video showed them arriving in central Moscow. These leaders are part of the E3, an informal security alliance supporting Ukraine. They met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in London last Sunday, where they backed his call for a ceasefire.
At this meeting, they agreed that the current contact line between Russian and Ukrainian forces should be the starting point for talks. They also stated that Ukraine should receive legally binding security guarantees and that frozen Russian financial assets would not be released until Russia compensates Ukraine for war damages.
Russian President Vladimir Putin remains firm on his stance but noted that U. S. President Donald Trump’s peace proposals might help end the conflict.
