About MD

Modern Diplomacy is an invaluable platform for assessing and evaluating complex international issues that are often outside the boundaries of mainstream Western media and academia. We provide impartial and unbiased qualitative analysis in the form of political commentary, policy inquiry, in-depth interviews, special reports, and commissioned research.

We are a leading European opinion-maker with far-reaching influence across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. What we are not is a pure news-switchboard: we do not just provide information but expose readers to analysis that goes deeper than standard media exposes. Today’s world already has an avalanche of information, real and fake. What it needs more of are knowledge platforms that provide shared experiences, honestly told opinions, and unique takes informed by rigorous analytical logic.

Determined to voice will to power, to question but not dictate, to freely engage the intellectual arena and encourage passionate but respectful debate and discussion, MD does not stand behind any specific agenda, narrative, or school of thought. We aim to expose all ideas, thinkers, and arguments to the light and see what remains valid and sound. Contrary to the majority of news platforms, MD welcomes all imaginative and talented writers who are not hesitant to voice an opinion but diligent to support those opinions with firm, fair, and rational argumentation. This is the raison d’etre of Modern Diplomacy.

Our Board is comprised of distinguished thinkers, analysts, academics, diplomats, and entrepreneurs from all over the globe. These include former Ministers and Secretary-Generals from some of the most prestigious European bodies. Modern Diplomacy prides itself, in its board and its writers, for being politically, generationally, and geographically diverse, expansive, and exceptionally well-balanced.

Disclaimer: The views expressed within Modern Diplomacy are solely those of the authors in their private capacity and do not in any way represent or reflect the views of the Modern Diplomacy, its Advisory and Editorial Boards, Sponsors, Partners, or Affiliates.
