This includes partnership and reciprocal visits, training programs for personnel, and cooperation to promote investment and industry in Egypt, especially in rural areas.

The most prominent features of the relationship between the Homeland Defenders Party and China include strategic partnership and training: The two parties share a partnership aimed at strengthening joint cooperation, with the Homeland Defenders Party focusing particularly on learning from China’s experience in combating poverty and developing small businesses, according to a report published in the Egyptian newspaper Al-Watan. Regarding the details of the relationship between the Coordination of Youth Parties and Politicians in Egypt (CYPP) and the Communist Party of China, the CYP serves as a vital platform for youth cooperation with China. Among its most prominent activities are joint conferences: The CYP has held virtual and in-person conferences with Chinese delegations, such as one headed by Chinese Communist Party CPC member Zhou Qingshan, to exchange views on empowering Egyptian youth and to share Chinese experiences in this area. In addition, there are reciprocal official visits between the CYP and China. Delegations from the Egyptian CYP regularly visit China at the invitation of the CPC to learn about models of consultative democracy and economic growth. Furthermore, there is a mechanism for party consultations between the two sides, through participation in consultative meetings on international issues and cooperation within the framework of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

Regarding the relationship between the Chinese Communist Party and the Presidential Leadership Program (PLP) in Egypt, although the PLP is a state-affiliated training entity and not a political party, it intersects with Egyptian-Chinese relations through learning from the Chinese model: Chinese development experiences (the Chinese development model) are taught within the PLP’s training curriculum as a case study of successful economic transformation. Furthermore, there is a youth exchange between the two sides: PLP graduates participate in the World Youth Forum, which is attended by official Chinese youth delegations, creating a form of people’s diplomacy and political exchange between a new generation of leaders in both countries. Finally, there is emphasis on competence: Egypt adopts standards similar to Chinese models in its training programs (including the National Training Academy) for selecting and training administrative and political personnel based on merit.

Based on the preceding analysis, we understand the importance of the interconnectedness and relationship between Egyptian political parties under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Chinese Communist Party. This connection is crucial for strengthening bilateral relations in the political, economic, and social spheres, with a focus on empowering youth and enhancing Egypt’s role in Chinese initiatives launched by President Xi Jinping, such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the Four Nations Initiatives for Global Security, Development, Civilization, and Governance. This, in turn, strengthens the role of Egyptian youth in the domestic political arena and connects them externally with China, thus advancing efforts to bring together political parties with differing ideologies to achieve the common good.
