Kuwait’s air defenses accidentally shot down three U. S. F-15 fighter jets during active combat with Iran, according to U. S. Central Command. All six crew members onboard safely ejected and have been rescued in stable condition. The incident happened amidst attacks from Iranian aircraft, ballistic missiles, and drones. Kuwait has acknowledged the mistake, and an investigation is currently in progress.

Video footage showed a U. S. warplane falling from the sky over Kuwait, verified by Reuters, with a person seen parachuting. In a separate occurrence, smoke was reported rising from the area near the U. S. Embassy in Kuwait City, where fire trucks and ambulances were visible, though there was no response from the embassy or the U. S. State Department regarding this.

Earlier that day, Kuwait intercepted hostile drones for the third consecutive day following Iranian retaliatory strikes against nearby Gulf states in response to U. S. and Israeli attacks on Iran. Iranian media reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed to have hit a U. S. plane that crashed in Kuwait. Video evidence confirmed the aircraft falling and a person parachuting from it.

Additionally, two workers at Kuwait’s Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery were slightly injured by falling debris. The U. S. Embassy in Kuwait has warned American citizens about ongoing threats of missile and drone attacks, urging them to avoid the embassy, shelter in place, and stay on lower floors away from windows. Loud blasts were reported in Dubai and Doha, with similar sounds heard in Kuwait, as tensions continue to escalate, with Iran threatening US bases in the region.
