Chinese President Xi Jinping’s connection to the recent “Jeffrey Epstein” leaks (published in early 2016) revolves around his name being mentioned in emails written by Epstein, rather than his direct involvement in any ethical crimes, according to the leaked documents. The documents, released by the US Department of Justice, included an email Epstein sent in November 2015 to American billionaire “Reid Hoffman” (founder of LinkedIn), in which he mentioned that “Prince Andrew” (the former Duke of York in Britain) spent a significant amount of time with Chinese President “Xi Jinping”. Epstein’s role, as revealed in his emails, centered on his offer to facilitate meetings between businessmen and the Chinese side through “Prince Andrew”, claiming that the latter enjoyed a “close relationship” with President “Xi”. Official records confirm that Prince Andrew met President “Xi Jinping” officially in Beijing in 2016 and 2018, and sat next to him during the Chinese president’s state visit to Britain in 2015.
British security concerns have grown regarding this matter, as these leaks have raised questions within Britain about whether Prince Andrew’s close relationship with the Chinese leadership posed a threat to British national security, especially given Epstein’s own attempts to exploit these connections for financial or consulting purposes. It is understood that the Chinese president’s name appears as part of a network of influence that Epstein was trying to exploit through “Prince Andrew.” However, there are no credible allegations in the leaked documents linking President Xi Jinping to Epstein’s sexual crimes or any other scandals.
On the other hand, leaked documents and investigations related to the “Jeffrey Epstein” case, the extensive release of which occurred in January and February 2026, revealed controversial connections linking him to Chinese networks of influence, prominent dissidents, and accusations of involvement in arms-related activities. Most notably, his relationship with Chinese dissidents (the Guo Wengui case): Recently released correspondence revealed explicit warnings Epstein issued to some of his associates regarding prominent Chinese dissident “Guo Wengui” (also known as Miles Cook). Furthermore, leaked emails included warnings to Steve Bannon, former advisor to US President Trump: In emails with Bannon, Epstein warned Bannon against dealing with “Guo Wengui,” describing him as being connected to “dangerous Chinese networks” and advising him to exercise caution. In addition to the leaks revealing information about power networks within China, the leaks indicate that Epstein possessed deep knowledge of these networks and used this information to influence US policymakers who supported Chinese dissidents.
Furthermore, the leaks also included scandals related to Epstein’s arms dealings and Chinese intelligence connections. The “Epstein Files” contain references to murky links to arms trafficking and intelligence activities in China, most notably: US Department of Justice documents released by order of President “Trump” in December 2015 revealed Epstein’s alleged ties to espionage and arms trafficking involving China and North Korea. Additionally, the files included correspondence from “Melvin Cohn” (claiming ties to US intelligence) in which he asked Jeffrey Epstein’s brother, Mark, for information about China, warning him that his life was in danger after Jeffrey’s death. In addition to the claim of a long history between Epstein and China, some analyses have linked Epstein’s former associates, such as Steven Pottinger, to historical arms sales involving China to parties in the Middle East during the 1980s, suggesting that the roots of these relationships extend back decades.
What struck me most personally, as an expert on Chinese politics and the policies of the ruling Communist Party of China, was the information contained in the Epstein leaks regarding his connections with the Chinese leadership. Emails from 2025 (published in the recent leaks) revealed Epstein’s role in facilitating meetings between high-level figures and the Chinese political leadership and other prominent individuals, such as facilitating the meeting between Prince Andrew and President Xi Jinping. In a message to billionaire Reid Hoffman, Epstein mentioned that Prince Andrew had spent considerable time with President “Xi Jinping”, and Epstein offered to arrange similar meetings, highlighting his role as an “access agent” for the global elite within China. Documents released by the US Department of Justice in late 2025 and early 2026 indicate connections and attempts by “Jeffrey Epstein” to expand his influence in China, whether through seeking business opportunities or via alleged intelligence networks. The following are key points regarding China’s connection to the Epstein case, according to the latest updates: (Seeking business opportunities in China through “Prince Andrew”): Leaked emails revealed that Epstein sought the help of Britain’s Prince Andrew (the former Duke of York) to gain access to powerful contacts in China. The documents indicated that Epstein believed the Prince’s connections could help him grow his business and expand his influence within Chinese circles. (Allegations of ties to Chinese intelligence agencies and spies): US Department of Justice files included references to Epstein’s possible connections to arms trafficking and espionage networks in China and North Korea. However, these connections were described in official reports as “vague” and lacking conclusive evidence to support the existence of direct institutional cooperation. In addition to warnings in the Epstein leaks about the “power of Chinese networks,” in correspondence with Steve Bannon (former advisor to President Trump), Epstein cautioned against dealing with exiled Chinese businessman “Guo Wengui” (also known as Mills Cook), citing his awareness of the extent and pervasiveness of Chinese power networks and their international operations. Other documents dating back to November 2011 revealed Epstein’s contact with China to obtain medical information: communication between Epstein and Gulf figures regarding experimental cancer treatments at Fuda Hospital in China, reflecting his interest in accessing advanced or experimental medical services there.
The recent leaks of Jeffrey Epstein’s files (millions of pages of which were released by January 30, 2026) point to a complex web of geopolitical relationships that extends beyond mere ethical scandals, reaching into sensitive matters related to China, arms dealings, and opposition figures. The following details these relationships based on leaked documents and related intelligence reports, specifically regarding the Chinese arms trade with Iran. The files revealed Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement in the 1980s with international arms trafficking networks that acted as intermediaries for Chinese weapons. Epstein’s name was also linked to “Douglas Leese,” with whom he worked closely. Leese was accused of selling Chinese weapons to Iran during the Iran-Iraq War (1981-1988). Furthermore, Epstein’s involvement with the Chinese company Norinco was established.
Testimonies from former associates of Epstein, such as Steven Hoffenberg, indicate that in 1983 he was directly involved in arms sales from the Chinese state-owned company “Norinco” to Iran, when China was Tehran’s largest arms supplier. In addition to Steven Hoffenberg’s claim that Epstein received training in smuggling, Hoffenberg alleged that Epstein received training in the early 1980s on how to smuggle weapons, set up shell companies, and launder money under the supervision of “Douglas Less.”
The leaks also included Epstein’s connection to Chinese dissidents (the Guo Wengui case). Epstein’s name appeared in the context of warnings about specific Chinese networks, particularly in his correspondence with “Steve Bannon” (former Trump advisor), specifically regarding the Chinese dissident Guo Wengui, also known as Miles Kwok. In confirmed emails, Epstein explicitly warned Bannon against dealing with the exiled Chinese billionaire dissident “Guo Wengui” (Miles Cook). Epstein described Guo Wengui’s networks as “flying networks,” indicating to investigators that Epstein possessed deep and inside knowledge of Chinese power networks and intelligence operations linked to Chinese dissidents abroad.
The leaked Epstein files from January 2026 also included reports from the “FBI,” concerning allegations of Epstein’s ties to foreign intelligence agencies, including China, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence deals and Chinese espionage. He was accused of increasing foreign influence, as documented in an FBI report known as Form (FD-1023).
Dated October 2020, this form, based on information from a confidential source, alleged that Epstein exerted “foreign influence” on countries including China, according to a specific geopolitical perspective. In his correspondence with Steve Bannon, former Trump advisor, Epstein frequently discussed China, oscillating between describing it as a “doomed slave system” due to the real estate bubble and as a “formidable adversary” that must be defeated. In addition to what the leaks revealed, as mentioned, regarding Epstein’s relationship with Chinese dissidents in the current landscape of 2026, coinciding with the Epstein leaks, other cases involving Chinese dissidents in the United States emerged, raising questions about power struggles and his connection to the prominent Chinese dissident (Hang Guan).
On January 28, 2026, a US judge granted asylum to the well-known Chinese dissident “Hang Guan,” who had made allegations of the oppression of the Uyghur minority in China. Washington accepted this decision as part of its political rivalry with China, following previous attempts by the Trump administration to deport him. This highlights the sensitivity of the issue of Chinese dissidents within the current US political landscape.
Therefore, we conclude that the Epstein leaks are part of 3 million documents currently being examined, and they paint a picture of Epstein not only as a sex offender but also as a player in “dark politics” that links arms deals, intelligence gathering, and the manipulation of files on political opponents to serve geopolitical agendas. International investigations are still ongoing in 2026, focusing on tracking shell companies and offshore accounts that may be linked to Epstein’s network in foreign jurisdictions, including Asia, to uncover any financial facilitation that supported his illegal activities. From this, we understand that these leaks do not only portray Epstein as a “sexual predator,” but also as a figure connected to “deep state” networks that acted as a link in transcontinental Chinese arms deals in the 1980s and who had extensive knowledge of the movements of prominent Chinese dissidents in the United States.
