Director Dylan Southern noted that viewers witnessed their reconciliation unfold on stage. Initially, Liam was distant during rehearsals, and Noel shared that their children had not met until the reunion tour, but they quickly became friends. By the film’s end, Noel surprisingly called Liam “delightful.”
The filmmakers took a hands-off approach, allowing events to unfold naturally. They also included fans, whose love played a significant role in the brothers’ healing process. Screenwriter Steven Knight emphasized the film’s themes of reconciliation and forgiveness, asserting that the real-life story was more captivating than any fictional script. The film is featured out of competition at the Venice Film Festival, which runs until September 12.
