China’s foreign ministry announced sanctions on 10 individuals and 20 U. S. defense firms, including Boeing’s St. Louis branch, due to arms sales to Taiwan.
The sanctions freeze their assets in China and prevent domestic organizations from doing business with them. The targeted individuals, including the founder of Anduril Industries and nine executives, are also banned from entering China.
Other firms affected include Northrop Grumman and L3Harris Maritime Services. This action follows the U. S. announcing an $11.1 billion arms sale to Taiwan, the largest in history.
China views Taiwan as its territory and warns that provocative actions regarding Taiwan will lead to a strong response.
