Kyiv faced a significant drone and missile attack early on Sunday, marking one of the largest assaults from Russia since the war began.
This attack resulted in at least three deaths, including a reported 12-year-old girl, and around ten injuries, as stated by Kyiv’s military administration.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha described the strike as “massive,” involving hundreds of missiles and drones, emphasizing the need for tougher sanctions against Russia to deter its aggression.
Other regions, including Zaporizhzhia, were also affected, with at least 16 injuries reported there, including three children, and several buildings damaged and set on fire.
Eyewitnesses in Kyiv reported drones overhead, anti-aircraft fire, and loud explosions. Kyiv’s Mayor Vitali Klitschko mentioned a fire at a state hospital due to the attack. In response, Poland closed airspace near two southeastern cities and scrambled jets for safety.
