Shashank Khandwe is a Junior Research Fellow and a PhD candidate at the Centre for Indo-Pacific Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He was previously a research intern at the Centre for Aerospace Power and Strategic Studies (CAPSS) in New Delhi. His research interests include Japan-Southeast Asia relations, with an emphasis on energy and technology transfer. He has contributed to the volume India, Japan, and Beyond (Springer, 2024), and to the upcoming volumes, ‘Harnessing Science, Technology, and Innovation through Strategic Partnership: India, Japan, and Indo-Pacific Relevance’ (IGI Global, 2026), and ‘Techno-Nationalism: A New Era in Global Power Dynamics’ (Peter Lang, 2026). His study on nuclear energy innovations in India: role of private sector and international collaborations was published in Airpower Journal (Vol. 20, No.4, Winter 2025).
