Naheed Farid is a former Member of the Parliament of Afghanistan where she chaired the Women’s Affairs Commission. She currently serves as Executive Director of Her-Future-Afghanistan, an initiative providing Afghan girls with access to technology and IT education, and as a member of the Advisory Board of AfghanEvac. She is also a former Fellow of Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs. A graduate of George Washington University, Ms. Farid is a Forbes Change Maker and a recipient of Italy’s Distinctive Brave-Knight Medal, awarded in recognition of her leadership and public service. Since the fall of Afghanistan in August 2021, Ms. Farid has been a leading global voice for accountability, democratic governance, and the rights of Afghan women and girls. She has addressed the United Nations, the UK and European Parliaments, the United States Congress, and major international media, advocating for principled international engagement and sustained action in defense of human dignity.
