Valentino presented a fashion show featuring vibrant corset tops, lace skirts, and chunky gold jewelry, under the theme “Antibiblioteca” in the historic Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève, Paris. On a sunny day, celebrities like Alexander Skarsgard and Cynthia Erivo arrived, showcasing books to photographers and fans while seated at oak tables beneath the library’s beautiful architecture.

Alessandro Michele, the creative director since March 2024, is tasked with reviving brand sales after Valentino faced a €103 million loss last year due to a 15% revenue decline. Michele’s previous role at Gucci saw him introduce a bold style that significantly improved the brand’s performance.

During the show, models walked among library stacks wearing tight silk corset tops in bright colors, paired with contrasting skirts and strapless dresses, including a striking red gown with a large black bow. The jewelry was eye-catching, with elaborate gold pieces and large pearl earrings. The male models wore stylish jackets and sequinned shirts, accompanied by trendy accessories. In June, Valentino’s major shareholders pledged further financial support amid increasing debt, with Kering holding an option for full ownership by 2029.
