Pop music star Taylor Swift has released four new songs for her successful album “The Life of a Showgirl,” including the single “Patient Zero,” which explores a toxic relationship. The updated album, titled “The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore,” was launched at midnight US Eastern Daylight Time. A music video for “Patient Zero” will premiere on Sunday during the MTV Video Music Awards, where Swift will receive the first-ever artist director trophy.
The video features actors Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson. In “Patient Zero,” Swift sings about being the first to suffer in a bad relationship. Another new song, “Cleveland!,” mentions her husband Travis Kelce’s hometown. The couple got married in July after dating for three years. Swift’s original album broke records upon its release in October 2025, with all 12 songs reaching the Billboard top 12 at once and achieving record sales. Swift wrote the new tracks while celebrating “Showgirl” in Sweden with producers Max Martin and Shellback.
