From Maximum Pressure to Total Victory: Trump’s Call for Iranian ‘Unconditional Surrender’

U. S. President Donald Trump demanded Iran's "unconditional surrender" as the conflict with Israel escalated.

U. S. President Donald Trump demanded Iran’s “unconditional surrender” as the conflict with Israel escalated. He made this statement on social media after Iran’s president mentioned that some countries were beginning mediation efforts to resolve the war. Trump insisted that there would be no deal with Iran unless it surrendered completely. He expressed a desire to help select a new supreme leader for Iran, following the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during the conflict.

Meanwhile, Israel intensified its military actions, carrying out extensive airstrikes in Beirut and targeting Iranian positions, including a bunker linked to Khamenei. In response, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian acknowledged ongoing mediation efforts from unspecified countries, emphasizing Iran’s commitment to lasting peace while defending its dignity and authority. He stated that mediation should address those who underestimated Iran and triggered the conflict.

Currently, Pezeshkian is part of a panel taking on Khamenei’s responsibilities, as Iran’s political structure features the president being subordinate to the supreme leader.
