High-stakes nuclear talks between Iran and the United States took place in Oman, with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi describing them as a good start.
Araqchi noted that there is an agreement to continue discussions, and both sides will return to their capitals for consultations to overcome mistrust.
While both parties are open to reviving diplomacy, the U. S. seeks to expand the talks to include Iran’s ballistic missiles, regional support for armed groups, and human rights issues.
Iran, however, refuses to discuss its missile program and insists on the right to enrich uranium, which the U. S. views as a red line.
