DJ Paris Hilton received the “muse of the year” award for her inspirational work, while Jeremiah Brown, a former “Love Island USA” contestant, won “rising star of the year. ” Hilton emphasized that muses create trends rather than follow them.
The awards also honored activism with the “For Good” award, presented to Zach, a creator with Down syndrome, and his brother Pat Valentine, who promote inclusion. Pop singer Ciara performed a medley of her hits to conclude the night.
Additionally, TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, announced a deal to sell over 80% of its U. S. assets to American and global investors, aiming to avoid a government ban. This step addresses concerns about the app’s safety and its ties to China, especially following previous efforts to ban TikTok due to security risks.
