Russian assault units have made gains in the northern area of Pokrovsk, a city in Ukraine, and captured a village south of Siversk, according to the Russian Defence Ministry. However, the Ukrainian military claims it successfully defended against 57 Russian attacks in the area and is targeting Russian units within the city.
Russian forces are advancing along various points in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions while the U. S. considers a potential peace plan. Russia views the capture of Pokrovsk, referred to as “the gateway to Donetsk,” as a strategic move to push toward Kramatorsk and Sloviansk, two remaining Ukrainian-controlled cities. While Russian maps indicate control over Pokrovsk, Ukrainian maps describe it as a contested area.
Additionally, Russia’s Defence Ministry states that its units have expanded into Myrnohrad and taken the village of Vasiukivka, employing new battlefield tactics focused on encirclement. They also reported advancing near Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia.
