Chanel’s creative director Matthieu Blazy debuted his new designs for the iconic fashion house with a runway show on Monday.

At 41, Blazy is part of a wave of new designers aiming to attract shoppers facing inflation. The show took place at the Grand Palais in Paris, with guests wearing the brand’s famous tweed and accessories featuring the interlocking C logo.

Models showcased outfits with dropped waists, long button-up shirts, low-waisted skirts, and embellished red carpet looks. The collection included classic leather handbags and new “crushed” designs in gold and silver.

The audience of over 2,000 applauded with a standing ovation as Blazy took his bow, marking a new era for Chanel after Virginie Viard’s departure.

Paris Fashion Week wraps up Tuesday after a month of global shows.
