Germany’s air force sent two Eurofighters on Sunday to track a Russian IL-20M military aircraft in neutral airspace over the Baltic Sea.

After identifying the aircraft, Germany handed over escort duties to NATO partners in Sweden. NATO’s North Atlantic Council will meet on Tuesday to discuss Russia’s violation of Estonian airspace.

Estonia reported that three Russian MiG-31 fighter jets entered its airspace without permission on Friday and remained for 12 minutes before being forced to leave.
