The General Command reported that units of the Syrian Armed Forces stationed in northern Hama province successfully thwarted an incursion by terrorists, resulting in the elimination of numerous militants and effectively stalling their offensive.
The statement, shared on the Defense Ministry’s Facebook page, indicated, “Our units in the northern region of Hama reinforced the defensive line with enhanced firepower and equipment last night, engaging with terrorist organizations and preventing their advance.”
Furthermore, it noted that the forces gained control over several key areas, notably Qalaat al-Madiq and Maardis, leading to the destruction of dozens of terrorists and prompting the remainder to retreat. On November 28, the Syrian military command disclosed that the Jabhat al-Nusra extremist group had initiated a significant assault across a wide front on the morning of November 27. The statement detailed that the terrorists aimed to target “the villages and towns safeguarded by the Syrian army, along with military installations.”
On November 30, the Syrian army announced its necessity to reorganize its forces while countering a terrorist attack in Aleppo, prioritizing the safety of civilians and military personnel, and preparing for a counteroffensive.
In a discussion with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Syrian President Bashar Assad asserted that the nation possesses the capability to defeat terrorism with the support of its allies and friends.
