There many interpretations towards the Chinese style of modernization, concerning the achievements made in this process. Particularly, China’s path toward modernization is one of peace and development, win-win cooperation, and harmony between man and nature. Chinese style modernization is modernization of peaceful development. China’s modernization is an ongoing process. With the rapid development of the Chinese economy and the increase of its international influence, the Chinese-style modernization model and its ideas have received wide attention around the world.
Chinese style modernization, is a modernization rooted in the soil of excellent Chinese traditional culture. This Chinese-style theory of modernization embodies the wisdom of ancient and modern China, and includes not only the common elements of the modernization process of all countries in the world, but also China’s own characteristics.
China’s modernization, which aims to achieve common prosperity for all people, shows global significance. China’s modernization pushes the pattern of building a community with a shared future for mankind, bringing opportunities for all countries to promote their own modernization. As history and culture differ from one country to another, so does the pace of development.
Therefore, the successful experience of Chinese-style modernization shows that each country needs to find a development path that suits its national conditions.
Chinese-style modernization seeks “common prosperity for all the people”. In the ten years of the new era, China has established the largest social security system, the largest medical and health system, and the largest education system in the world, and all people have benefited from the development achievements. Nearly 100 million people have been lifted out of poverty, and the problem of extreme poverty has been solved historically, which highlights the success of the Chinese modernization experience.
We find that during the meetings of the two annual sessions this year in China in March 2024, the concept of (Chinese modernization) within the framework of China’s development attracted a lot of attention. Emphasizing China’s commitment to promoting high-quality development with new productive forces and promoting Chinese-style modernization, bringing inspiration to the world’s development and economic cooperation.
Chinese-style modernization emphasizes the importance of material, cultural, and moral progress, which distinguishes it from Western modernization, and achieving coordination between material, cultural, and moral progress leads the way to achieving comprehensive material abundance as well as comprehensive development for citizens.
Chinese-style modernization is more than just a matter of eliminating extreme poverty, it promotes shared prosperity, thereby reducing both the huge wealth gap and inequality that have grown alongside Western modernization.
China’s call for comprehensive modernization, both within the Chinese state and outside it, in order to achieve common prosperity and establish a society characterized by greater justice and greater equity, is a very important message not only to China and the Chinese people, but also to the world, to confirm that China shares its path towards modernization, its development returns with the rest of the world. An example of this is (China’s Belt and Road Initiative). The World Bank projects that if all transportation infrastructure projects planned under the (Belt and Road) are implemented, the initiative will generate global revenues of US$1.6 trillion annually until 2030 up to 90% of these revenues will go to developing and poor partner countries.
In this context, the most important thing about the (Belt and Road Initiative) is that developing countries can benefit from the great experience embodied in China’s development. The Belt and Road Initiative gives them the opportunity to create an industrial society and join the modern era. This bodes well in the long run for the (future of humanity on the path to comprehensive modernization) of developing and poor countries with Chinese assistance.
I believe, as an expert in Chinese political affairs, that the process of Chinese modernization highlights (the strong bond between the Chinese Communist Party and the people), as the loyalty of the Chinese people to the political leadership does not arise in a vacuum, but rather arises through a continuous process of modernization, to fight poverty and improve the living standards of citizens and achieve sustainable development”. With the development of the times and social progress, there is no end to satisfying people’s aspiration for a better life. The report of the (Twentieth National Congress) of the Communist Party of China made detailed arrangements to improve the people’s well-being and quality of life, in order to constantly realize the people’s aspiration for a better life, and reach a better model for Chinese update.
