The purpose of the launch was to enhance the proficiency of the launch drills and procedures, as stated by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army’s media wing.

The ISPR further mentioned that the Fatah-II rocket system is equipped with advanced navigation capabilities, a unique trajectory, and maneuverable features, enabling it to engage targets with exceptional accuracy. According to the statement, this rocket system is currently being incorporated into Pakistan’s artillery divisions to effectively engage distant targets with precision.

Fatah-II will significantly upgrade the reach and lethality of the Pakistan Army’s conventional arsenal, it said.
