President Aleksandar Vucic expressed the immense significance of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Belgrade on Instagram. In a statement following his meeting with Chinese Ambassador Li Ming, Vucic emphasized the preparations for President Xi’s visit, underscoring its tremendous importance for Serbia.

“The honor that he shows to our country by visiting it, is immeasurable for all of us, particularly taking into account Serbia’s plans for speeding up its comprehensive development, and providing the current global geopolitical context,” Vucic said.

Vucic acknowledged the honor bestowed upon Serbia by President Xi’s visit, particularly in light of Serbia’s aspirations for accelerated comprehensive development within the current global geopolitical context. According to the Tanjug news agency, Serbia and China will sign over 30 agreements during President Xi’s visit.

The safety of the Chinese delegation, consisting of 400 individuals and led by the president, will be ensured by 3,400 police officers. As President Xi’s plane enters Serbia’s sovereign airspace, it will be escorted by Serbia’s MiG-29 fighter jets. Upon arrival at the airport, the Chinese leader will be greeted by the guards of honor. The Chinese Foreign Ministry described President Xi’s state visit to Serbia on May 7-8 as a significant milestone in the enhancement and revitalization of China-Serbia relations.

During the visit, President Xi and President Vucic are expected to discuss global and regional issues, elevate the level of China-Serbia relations, and chart a course for future bilateral ties.
