Russia will hold a military parade on Red Square in Moscow next month to celebrate victory over Nazi Germany, specifically on May 9, which marks the 81st anniversary of the Soviet Union’s surrender to Germany in World War II. This is a significant holiday in Russia, allowing veterans to showcase their medals and fostering emotional moments through films, documentaries, and wartime music. However, the Defence Ministry announced that no military equipment will be displayed during this year’s parade due to the ongoing war situation in Ukraine.
Military personnel from higher educational institutions and various branches of the Armed Forces will participate in the parade, but certain educational institutions will not be involved, nor will there be any military hardware. The event will highlight the contributions of servicemen from Russia’s Strategic Missile Forces, Aerospace Forces, and naval ships. There will be a flypast by military aircraft, which will display the national flag’s colors at the parade’s end. Russian forces continue to progress in eastern Ukraine, and U. S.-brokered peace talks are currently stalled, with President Putin aiming to capture the entire Donbas region, a goal faced with Ukrainian resistance.
