Israel made an announcement on Wednesday regarding the reopening of the Kerem Shalom crossing, a crucial entry point for humanitarian aid into Gaza. A statement from the office of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, Israel’s military liaison to the Palestinians, mentioned that aid trucks from Egypt, carrying humanitarian supplies, had already started arriving at the crossing.
The trucks are filled with food, water, shelter equipment, medicine, and medical supplies donated by the international community, as highlighted by the office. Following an incident on Sunday where a Palestinian armed group launched rockets at a nearby military base in southern Israel, resulting in the deaths of at least three Israeli soldiers, Israel had temporarily closed the Kerem Shalom crossing.
