Breitling is celebrating the 55th anniversary of the Patrouille Suisse Swiss Air Force Team, admired around the world for its dazzling aerial performances, with the launch of the Avenger Swiss Air Force Team Limited Edition, produced in a series of 550 pieces.
In 1964, the Swiss Air Force created an aerobatics team, named Patrouille Suisse, made up of some of its most talented pilots. Today, 55 years later, the Patrouille Suisse squadron dazzles audiences with aerial displays in the skies above Switzerland and other European countries with precision performances in six supersonic jets. Breitling has created a new watch to honor these high-flying Swiss ambassadors: the Avenger Swiss Air Force Team Limited Edition.
Georges Kern, the CEO of Breitling, welcomes the opportunity to celebrate the Patrouille Suisse squadron’s anniversary with a limited-edition chronograph. He says: “The Patrouille Suisse Swiss Air Force Team and Breitling make ideal partners. Flying in tight formations in supersonic jets, the Patrouille Suisse squadron is the perfect modern expression of our long aviation tradition. We are excited about the watch we have created to celebrate their 55th anniversary.”
The Breitling Avenger Swiss Air Force Team Limited Edition has a 45 mm stainless-steel case with a ratcheted unidirectional rotating bezel. Its striking black dial features the logo of the Patrouille Suisse squadron on the subdial at 9 o’clock as well as distinctive yellow and red accents that reflect the colors of the Patrouille Suisse squadron’s logo. The yellow-tipped second hand adds another dash of color. The hands and the black indexes are coated with Super-LumiNova®, a luminescent material that makes them easily readable in all lighting conditions. The caseback is engraved with the Patrouille Suisse squadron’s 55th anniversary logo – a stylized 55 and six supersonic jets in flight – along with the words “ONE OF 550”, an indication of its special limited-edition status.
The Avenger Swiss Air Force Team Limited Edition is powered by a Breitling Caliber 13, a COSC-certified chronometer movement with a power reserve of approximately 48 hours. It is water-resistant to 30 bar (300 meters). The special limited-edition Avenger is presented on an anthracite leather military strap with a pin buckle.
The Campaign Revolving around the Patrouille Suisse Swiss Air Force Team
Breitling is proud to present three talented Patrouille Suisse jet pilots to support this anniversary edition. Major Gunnar Jansen joined the Patrouille Suisse Swiss Air Force Team in 2010 and has led the formation for the past three years. Captain Claudius Meier flies in the second position, on the right side of the leader. Captain Lukas Nannini, the second soloist, who flies in the fifth position on the outer left wing, completes the squad.
Since 1884, Breitling has established a global reputation for high-precision timepieces, its pioneering role in the development of the wrist chronograph, and its uncompromising commitment to design excellence. With the brand’s storied association with aviation, Breitling has shared the finest moments in humankind’s conquest of the skies. Renowned for its spirit of innovation, it has also earned a place of privilege in the worlds of science, sport, and technology. Breitling manufactures its own movements inhouse and the quality of every watch is confirmed by its status as a COSC-certified chronometer, made in Switzerland.
Celebrate Time With A Personalised Engraving On Your Jaeger Lecoultre Reverso
When Jaeger‑LeCoultre introduced the Reverso almost 90 years ago, its blank metal flip side was designed purely as a functional solution to the need for polo players to protect the delicate glass of their watches. However, it immediately became a canvas for special messages and artistic expression, decorated with enamel or engravings.
Some would commission engravings for themselves – to mark one of life’s milestones or as a reminder of something deeply meaningful. Others would commission engravings as a gift for someone special in their lives – perhaps a significant date, maybe a message of love. Thanks to the Reverso’s design – unlike any other watch – the decoration could be kept secret or flipped over to be displayed to the world.
Continuing this tradition, three of the Maison’s friends share their stories about how they have personalised their Reverso watches.
A watch enthusiast since he was very young, British actor Nicholas Hoult (The Favourite, X-Men, A Single Man) has enjoyed close links with Jaeger‑LeCoultre for the past four years, regularly participating in the Maison’s cinema-related activities. His Reverso, a Reverso Classic Large Small Second in Steel, reflects his relaxed and classical style of dressing and his choice of engraving – his son’s initials – is equally classical, yet deeply personal. The first time he spoke about his baby in an interview, he said that being a father “makes you value time differently” – so it is especially fitting to have his son’s initials engraved on a favourite timepiece.
“I engraved the initials HKH as a way to honour my son and keep him close to me every day. Timepieces have a tradition in my family of being passed down between generations. I am excited to pass along this watch to my son one day, “ says Hoult, adding that his interest in watches began through his own father’s fascination with timepieces. Through his choice of engraving, Hoult has created a future heirloom with a deep emotional connection to his family.
Welcomed by Jaeger‑LeCoultre as a friend of the Maison at the beginning of 2019, when she attended SIHH for the first time, American actress Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia! Les Misérables) often speaks about her beloved dog, Finn. Since she rescued the Australian Shepherd from an animal shelter almost a decade ago, he has played a major part in her life.
For the flip side of her Reverso Classic Medium Thin, she asked Jaeger‑LeCoultre’s engravers to reproduce a favourite photograph of Finn. “He’s been my constant companion, unconditional support, and the guiding light in my life,” explains Seyfried. “He’s my forever lucky charm and having his little face against my skin every day will be the perfect reminder of how special our bond is.”
With starring roles in The Flowers of War and Love and Destiny among her credits, Ni Ni is one of China’s most acclaimed young actresses. A friend of Jaeger‑LeCoultre since 2018, she has taken an active role off-screen in the Maison’s initiatives to support and preserve the cinematic arts. For her Reverso, Ni Ni has chosen plum blossom as a poignant reminder of her home town – but it could just as easily be seen as an allegory of the actress’s delicate beauty and inner strength.
“When I was a child, many Chinese poems about the elegance and resilience of the plum blossom impressed me a lot. In my hometown, Nanjing, we have the ‘best Plum Blossom Mountain in China’ and Xuanwu Lake, where you can find plum trees blooming vibrantly even in winter snow,” Ni Ni explains. “The choice to include these elements was not only due to the classic beauty of the plum blossom, but also because it’s symbolic of perseverance in the face of adversity.” The cool tone of the steel case of Ni Ni’s Reverso Classic Medium Thin makes a beautiful background for the delicate engraving of the plum blossoms.

Aspen Snowmass Resort joined the Hublot portfolio sharing the same ambition of being “first, unique and different” and celebrating ski culture.
The Breitling Navitimer B03 Chronograph Rattrapante 45
It has been more than 85 years since Breitling introduced the first modern chronograph, whose influence on watch design has been incalculable. With its new Navitimer B03 Chronograph Rattrapante 45, featuring its interpretation of one of watchmaking’s grandest complications, the brand has shown that it remains at innovation’s cutting edge. The Navitimer B03 Chronograph Rattrapante 45 has an 18 k red gold case and is equipped with Breitling’s Manufacture Caliber B03, a unique split-second movement protected by two patents. Its innovative construction ensures maximum precision, sturdiness, and reliability.
The rattrapante is one of the most sophisticated complications in all of watchmaking. Put simply, with two superimposed central chronograph hands, it can measure two elapsed times simultaneously. The rattrapante feature in the new Breitling Navitimer B03 Chronograph Rattrapante 45 is very special indeed, and there are some additional details that define this watch as an instant classic.
The Navitimer B03 Chronograph Rattrapante 45 is as aesthetically impressive as it is technically sophisticated. Housed in a big, bold 45 mm 18 k red gold case, it is distinguished by a Stratos Gray dial. Its hour markers and hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova®, which guarantees legibility in all lighting conditions. The watch has a bidirectional rotating bezel with the circular slide rule that has long been associated with Breitling’s Navitimers.
The Navitimer B03 Chronograph Rattrapante 45 offers another exquisite detail. Normally, a Breitling Navitimer features a stylized “B” logo with an anchor symbol adorning the base of the chronograph hands. But here there is a subtle refinement, with the logo divided between two hands. The B is on the red chronograph hand, while the anchor sits on the split-second hand. As a result, the two elements of the logo are separated when the split-second hand is stopped and reform when the hands realign with each other.
The split-second pusher, which is housed in the crown at 3 o’clock, serves to stop and restart the split-second hand as often as desired during a timing operation, allowing the wearer to measure split times or compare the results of several competitors.
The Breitling Manufacture Caliber B03 was produced by the brand at its Chronométrie facility in La Chaux-de- Fonds. The COSC-certified chronometer, whose performance can be viewed through the watch’s transparent sapphire caseback, offers a power reserve of around 70 hours and is protected by a five-year warranty. The watch, with its striking 18 k red gold case, is presented on a black alligator leather strap with a pin buckle.
The Navitimer and Breitling’s Chronograph Legacy
Since its development in 1952, the Breitling Navitimer has been one of the world’s most admired chronographs, and, with some recent additions to the family, Breitling has been introducing this watchmaking legend to a whole new generation of enthusiasts around the world.
The Navitimer is arguably the most iconic of all Breitling wristwatches. This twentieth-century classic remains popular in the twenty-first century, more than 65 years after it was first launched to meet the needs of a growing commercial and recreational aviation market. Thanks to the circular slide rule that was capable of performing a range of calculations relevant to aviation, the Navitimer was adopted by pilots and especially favored by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). Instantly recognizable, this timeless chronograph’s design is as appealing today as it was when it was introduced.
Behind the Navitimer are more than a century’s worth of horological breakthroughs. Breitling developed the first independent pusher located at the 2 o’clock position in 1915 and a second independent pusher in 1934, shaping the modern chronograph in both form and function. The brand introduced a self-winding chronograph – one of the world’s first – in 1969, and all true watch aficionados are passionate about the classic 1944 Duograph, whose split-second chronograph movement was developed in part by Breitling.
Breitling has long been regarded as a leader in mechanical chronograph movements, and the new Navitimer B03 Chronograph Rattrapante 45 in 18 k red gold enhances the brand’s status, demonstrating just how exciting a mechanical wristwatch can be.
