Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov stated that Europe should be part of discussions for a peace settlement in Ukraine, highlighting its significant role. He noted that the US has struggled to pressure Kyiv into agreeing to a deal, mentioning past expectations for the US administration to influence Ukraine. Ushakov emphasized the need to involve all of Europe, which consistently supports Ukraine.

The EU has taken a careful approach, moving to engage with Russia after initially leaving negotiations to former President Trump. European leaders from Britain, Germany, and France have backed talks between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and President Putin to seek a ceasefire, indicating Europe’s involvement.

On Sunday, Ushakov mentioned that Russia is prepared to restart three-party peace talks with Ukraine and the US after Russia’s National Unity Day on November 4. Zelenskiy added that a meeting of peace negotiators is set for the first half of November in Abu Dhabi, with hopes for a leaders’ meeting afterward. Ushakov also mentioned preparations for a potential meeting between Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Trump during the APEC summit in mid-November.
