U. S. President Donald Trump mentioned on Friday that he is considering a deal to sell F-35 stealth fighter jets to Saudi Arabia, made by Lockheed Martin.
Trump stated that Saudi Arabia wants to purchase many jets and has asked him to look into it. This potential sale comes as Trump prepares to host Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the White House next week to sign economic and defense agreements.
Trump expressed hope that Saudi Arabia would soon join the Abraham Accords, which normalize relations with Israel. However, a Pentagon intelligence report has raised concerns that this deal could allow China to access the aircraft’s technology.
