U. S. President Donald Trump announced that trade talks with Canada will not resume.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney apologized to Trump for a political ad in Ontario that used former President Ronald Reagan’s image, which claimed that tariffs would cause economic problems.
Trump criticized the ad as false and decided to increase tariffs on Canada by an extra 10%. The ad featured Reagan advocating for free markets and free trade.
Carney did not comment immediately.
