Ukraine is set to buy 25 Patriot air defense systems, as announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. This would greatly enhance Ukraine’s ability to defend against Russian air attacks.
Zelenskiy mentioned that these systems would be delivered annually for several years, and he plans to ask some European countries to prioritize Ukraine in receiving them.
The Patriot systems are considered very effective against fast-moving Russian ballistic missiles. Additionally, Zelenskiy expressed willingness to attend a meeting in Budapest with Russian President Vladimir Putin and U. S. President Donald Trump if a trilateral discussion is proposed.
Following a recent meeting, Trump called for a ceasefire, which Zelenskiy supported in his remarks to the press.
