Pakistan has sent fighter jets and other military forces to Saudi Arabia to enhance security as part of a defense agreement, according to the Saudi defense ministry. The Pakistani aircraft arrived at the King Abdulaziz Air Base and aim to strengthen defense cooperation and support regional stability. This deployment follows recent Iranian strikes that targeted Saudi energy infrastructure, raising fears in Pakistan about potential retaliation that could disrupt peace talks with Iran. A Pakistani official confirmed that the forces are not meant for offensive actions but to reassure Saudi Arabia of Pakistan’s commitment to its defense.

Riyadh and Islamabad signed a mutual defense pact in September 2025, which deepened their long-standing security partnership, agreeing to consider any aggression against one as an attack on both. Pakistan has provided military aid to Saudi Arabia, while Saudi Arabia has offered financial support to Pakistan during economic challenges. Recently, Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan visited Pakistan to show continued economic support, following a $6 billion aid package announced in 2018.
