Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, stated at an investment conference in Saudi Arabia that the war in Ukraine will end within a year.

He spoke after meetings with officials from U. S. President Donald Trump’s administration and noted a postponed summit between Trump and Putin.

Dmitriev expressed confidence in reaching peace, saying, “I believe so” when asked about peace in Ukraine within a year. He mentioned that Russia and the U. S. are close to a diplomatic solution.

Dmitriev emphasized the importance of cooperation between the U. S., Saudi Arabia, and Russia for global security and preventing larger conflicts.
