The United States announced it is adding 15 Chinese companies to its restricted trade list for helping purchase American electronic parts used in drones operated by Iranian proxies like the Houthi and Hamas militants.

The Commerce Department included ten Chinese companies for their role in acquiring components for weaponized drones operated by the Houthis.

Five more were added after the Israeli Defense Forces found weaponized drones used by Hamas following an attack in Israel that killed 1,200 people on October 7, 2023. In total, 29 entities, including companies from Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, are being added to the list.

These listings require licenses for exports, which are likely to be denied.
