Jyotirmoy Banerjee taught International Relations at Jadavpur University for over four decades. His academic peregrinations spanned Berkeley to Black Forest, Bonn and Berlin, from Washington to Wroclaw, from Hong Kong to Honolulu. His Fellowships tally includes Fulbright, Goethe Institute, Humboldt, Rockefeller, Erasmus Mundus and UGC. A TV and international radio commentator, he has authored a large number of scholarly books and articles. Professor Banerjee is also fluent in German and has working knowledge of Russian and Dutch. He autodidactically built websites for his students. At reunions he rocked a la Elvis Presley musically backed by his students.
