Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced that the current martial law and general mobilization of troops in Ukraine have been extended for an additional 90 days. The bills to prolong these measures received support from 339 and 336 lawmakers respectively, surpassing the required minimum of 226. These restrictive measures will remain in effect until August 11.

Following the conflict with Russia in February 2022, the Ukrainian parliament initially imposed martial law and declared military mobilization. Since then, these measures have been extended 11 times. Furthermore, a new mobilization law, aimed at recruiting more troops for the country’s armed forces, will come into effect on May 18.
