Time is mature to create a sovereign state of Palestine

The process for UN membership entails the Security Council's review, followed by its transmission to the 193-member General Assembly for the adoption of a resolution regarding admission.

The proposition for the referral, spearheaded by Ambassador Vanessa Frazier of Malta, President of the Security Council for April, encountered unanimous support from the council’s 15 members. Congratulations!

“In the absence of any opposing proposition, I intend to direct the Committee of Admission of New Members to reevaluate the application of the Observer State of Palestine within the month of April 2024,” stated Ms. Frazier, citing Rule 59 of the Council’s provisional rules of procedures concerning new memberships.

Ms. Frazier additionally recommended that the admissions committee, a subsidiary organ of the Security Council, convene at 3 PM on the same day to assess the application. These committee sessions are typically conducted in private, unless a different arrangement is deemed necessary.

Before the formal referral took place, the Council held a closed-door session to deliberate on Palestine’s request to revisit its earlier bid for membership, originally submitted on 23 September 2011.

Presently, Palestine holds the status of a non-member observer State at the UN, akin to the Holy See.

The process for UN membership entails the Security Council’s review, followed by its transmission to the 193-member General Assembly for the adoption of a resolution regarding admission.

As per its procedural norms, the Security Council evaluates whether the applicant demonstrates a commitment to peace and is capable and willing to fulfill the obligations outlined in the UN Charter, thereby determining whether to endorse the applicant for membership.

If the Security Council furnishes a recommendation, it is forwarded to the General Assembly along with a comprehensive record of the discussions held.

Should the Security Council choose not to recommend the applicant for membership or opt to postpone consideration, it submits a detailed report and record of discussions to the General Assembly.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning declared China’s support for full UN membership for Palestine during a press briefing. This statement comes in response to Palestine’s recent formal plea to the UN Security Council to reevaluate its application for full membership, initially submitted in 2011.

The Security Council convened on April 8 and directed the application to the Committee of Admission of New Members for further examination. However, the United States reiterated its stance of opposing Palestine’s full UN membership until a broader agreement is reached between Palestine and Israel.

Mao emphasized that the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the ensuing humanitarian crisis underscore the imperative of implementing a two-State solution. This entails establishing an independent state of Palestine to rectify the long-standing historical injustices suffered by the Palestinian people.

Russia has been supporting for a sovereign, independent and sustainable state since beginning. US has also been convinced for a permanent solution of two states – creation of Palestinian sovereign state. UK has also indicated earlier to recognize Palestine. France is also agreed to recognize Palestine. All 15 member UNSC has no objection to recognize Palestine.

57 members OIC is backing Palestine’s recognition by UN. Most of Asian, African nations are behind recognition of Palestine. Most of European nations are also convinced the legitimate right of People of Palestine for self-determination, – Independent and Sovereign State.

Time is mature to support create a sovereign and independent state of Palestine, from River to Sea, with Jerusalem and its capital. Israel must vacate all Arab land and vacate illegally occupation. Israel must return back to Pre-1967 borders.

For more than Seven-Decades, Middle East was instable and under the state of war or war like situation. The whole world suffered due to this tension and paid heavy price. The root cause was Israeli over ambitions of expansion. Israeli occupation of Arab lands and new settlements were the root cause of all evils in the entire region. To hide and support Israeli crimes, some of its Western allies, made several conspiracies and de-stabilized the whole region. Whole world was victim of Israeli aggressions and evil-designs.

It is time to settle the issue permanently on a sustainable basis. Creation of Palestinian state will bring peace and stability in the region and will contribute toward the global peace and stability.

It is desired that all nations must raise their voice based on their conscious and support the cause of Palestine. Irrational support to Israel has been proved wrong and it must be stopped immediately. Make sure all nations, including Israel must respect UN charter and human rights. No one should be above law and rules. Strengthen UN and International Organization to implement their decisions.
