Zoomerang Culture & Future of Work: 2022

Today, fully submerged into the zoomerang culture, now a new world of virtual events emerges, where triangulations of billion plus workers, billions plus square feet of workspaces and billions plus commuting logistics to work, now like a milk-shake in a global blender impacting our productivity-behaviors, life-style-patterns and economic-structures across the world. Smart players can optimize the power of global access and acceptability of virtuality as a respectable means of communication, a new boost to display goods and services across 10,000 cities now a possible scenario.

Like during the last decade, when the original concepts of national mobilization of entrepreneurialism tabled perceived too difficult to comprehend by governments and major institutions now appear simple virtualization platforms and logical pathways. National mobilization of local hidden entrepreneurialism on digital platforms can create the missing hum of grassroots prosperity. Study your own town and cities, against 100 other towns and cities of the world. Learn the difference. This is what business education seriously missed last decade. The real art of real ‘value-creation’ and not economies based on ‘value-manipulations’ because ‘virtualization of economies’ is not some new video game rather sophisticated way to measure real growth and local grassroots prosperity for common good.

Video-conferencing technologies existed decades ago but looked down as unproductive and unnecessary acts compared against real cozy, face-to-face business communication protocols, power trips, power-lunch or power-attires, with corporate decorum and layered hierarchies at most expensive towers all accepted as normal business costs. As long videoconference, equipment thrown out the window and never mentioned again, but not now, this is zoomerang-socializing time.

The transition at WARP speed; the global pandemic economics quickly declared majority organizations as flat liner but for those alive in zoomerang culture still breathing using virtuality as life support. Across the world, brand new sets of protocols and methodologies in motion to uplift human performance, productivity and profitability all with respect and dignity. Sales of upper-half fashion took off and bottom-half attires tanked. Kitchen stools became corner offices and walk-in closets exclusive private star-chambers.  To be on a virtual call and engaged in a virtual event and being virtually travelling now new status…the world changed.

Major Societal Changes dramatically altered previous routines and value offerings. Mighty downtown office towers at USD$500-1000 square feet now compete with virtual performances emulating from laundry closets, hazardous commuting eliminated too, now in suburbia, linking continents, a new way.

The Beneficiaries: High and low, management spread across 200 nations, the cubicle-slaves now freed for roaming age, the tortured commuters from 10,000 cities and out of box thinkers with best ideas but hated office politics and water-cooler therapies. Futuristic literate and bold entrepreneurs

The Enemies:  The real estate management of downtown core and tall office buildings across the world now is going empty. The office lobby seller of USD$10 cup of coffee, the USD$50 hour parking and so on

The Adjustments: Institutionalize remote working like any other major office routines, establish protocols and become productivity, performance and profitability centric expert fast, deliver real value at super speed and enjoy local, national, global roles and rewards. Sounds great but not for everyone, requires practice and adjustments. Study National Mobilization of Entrepreneurialism on Google.

Understanding the Last Seven Societies — To appreciate how we suddenly liberated ourselves from ‘cubicle-slavery’ into ‘free-roaming-age’ observe the last major shifts.Last 120 years; there were seven major innovative economic behaviors creating distinct global societal transitions. During the Print Society in 1900, when the printed word was power, literacy was perquisite and only the privileged had access to knowledge. Why similar scenario 120 years later occurring today, futurism demands futuristic literacy. “The Radio Society made its impact after a quarter century. It brought information freely available to the air and music to tap dance on assembly line floors. The ‘voice’ created radio-personalities with opinions and opinion leadership became noticeable. There were five other major societies.  TV Society brought live action dramas, and started the colorful consumerism. Telecom Society shorthanded distance and created standardization. The Computer Society created miniaturization and a sense of accuracy. The Cyber Society brought the world to the desk and started the diffusion between work and other lifestyles. We just left the Click Society, which brought the world into our pockets and seriously disrupted the traditional work model. “Excerpted Source: Sunrise, Day One, Year 2000.
