Dr. R. Evan Ellis

Dr. R. Evan Ellis is a research professor of Latin American studies at the Strategic Studies Institute, U.S. Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. He has published over 180 works on Latin American and Caribbean security issues, including three books, and he has presented his work in a broad range of business and government forums in twenty-six countries on four continents.

In May 2017, as the number killed during protests against the regime of Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela climbed toward 40, and with more than 130 injured and over 1,300 arrests, many in the United States and the region asked, “How much longer could it go on?”
