BANGKOK – It was sometimes ago that the New Yorker featured a cartoon that went something like this: “you can be a dog behind a computer and no one knows.”

Polish, Israeli and Thai diplomats, academics and students gathered together to listen and learn about the courage of Polish people saving the Jews during the Second World War.

BANGKOK – Given the rapid rise of middle class in Asia and increasing aspiration of this generation to go to Ivy League or any top schools anywhere in the west, Asian parents are paying enormous amount of money to private tutoring and so-called “educational consultants” to prepare their offsprings to what seemed to be a life changing experiences.

BANGKOK – The picture in front of me is beautiful, almost surreal. Students across high school and universities are getting to know each other, sharing their stories and enjoying the moment. While some, rushed to prepare their case with their team in quiet rooms.

BANGKOK – For the past ten years, Thailand has been divided so much so that it has passed the point of no return. Being associated with either the Red or Yellow shirt movements has been the defining factor of who we are.

Not so long ago, some Thai university students used Hitler image as the poster child for superhero and just recently, the Thai state used Nazi symbol in their propaganda for education.
