ectarian warfare is not a very new issue in the Islamic world because for decades Saudi-Arabia and Iran have had the ambition to dominate the Islamic globe, Iran exports the Shiite Islamic revolution doctrines and Saudi-Arabia the Wahabistic Islamic tenets to the Muslim world unfortunately both countries enjoy rich oil reserves and miss-using petro-bucks to lead the said world.

n principle, Donald Trump thinks that the NATO and non-NATO US traditional allies are free riders, namely fully autonomous decision-makers which accept the US military support, but then do their own way, at least in foreign policy. Donald Trump does not want to pay billions of dollars to protect US friendly nations which, however, do not spend the amount required for their defense.

In an unforseen decision last August, Iran allowed Russian warplanes to conduct several missions over Syria from the Shahid Nojah Air base in Iran. Russian tactical bombers took off from the airbase and targetted several spots related to ISIS and Jabhat Al Nusra. As surprising as it seems, observers and policy makers did not expect such move given the long unstable relationship between Russia and Iran, often associated with tension and uncertainty.
