By all accounts the Islamic State is on track to lose the majority of its real estate in Iraq and Syria by the end of this year. That will be cause for celebrations, but it will not mean that the goal of eradicating ISIS has been achieved.

In Kyrgyzstan, the adjudication concerning the people involved in an act of terrorism in Embassy of China in Bishkek was pronounced. It is known that on August 30, 2016 the suicide bomber rammed the gates of Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan by car and detonated a bomb together with the car in the territory of diplomatic mission. As a result of explosion, the terrorist died, three employees of embassy were wounded and serious damage was caused to the building of the consulate.

In a speech delivered on May 6 last, Patriarch Kirill - the Head of the Russian Orthodox Church - defined the Russian war in Syria as a conflict "against global terrorism" and hence suggested a "holy war" to free not only the Middle East, but also the entire Christian civilization, from this  "fierce and deceitful enemy".Russia as a "third Rome", after the first falling and the second failing because it surrendered to the profane world.

mong the nine military bases currently used by the Russian Federation, so far the only one in Syria is Tartus, a naval facility classified by Russia as a "technical and material support point", operating since 1971 thanks to an agreement with Hafez al-Assad’s Baathist Syria. We do no certainly want to deny that the Muslim population in Xinjiang, which at the time of Mao's Long March was simply called "the Western Region", does not tolerate some restrictions, but it is anyway true that the Islamist and jihadist networks are largely present in the region and that, as always happens in these cases, they have visible structures covering the invisible ones.

or expansion of the military-political influence in the Middle East Moscow wishes to use in Syria members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) which is the amorphous military block. On June 22, 2017, the Chairman of the Defense Committee of the State Duma of Russia, former commander of the Airborne Forces, Colonel-General Vladimir Shamanov said that Russia was negotiating with Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan to send troops to Syria monitoring the military situation (RIA Novosti, June 22).
