The ongoing UNFCCC Negotiations at COP 23 in Bonn, Germany shows increasing evidence of Trump’s intention to withdraw from the historic Paris Agreement signed by the US under President Obama’s leadership in 2015. The Paris Agreement is one of the fastest multilateral treaties in international law to have been signed and ratified by almost all nations.

The UN has announced record average levels of CO2. The Supreme Court of India recently imposed a ban on the use of petcoke and furnace oil in the states of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana which are situated in the National Capital Region (NCR). The ban comes in the wake of several public interest petitions filed before the Supreme Court as well as the National Green Tribunal regarding the alarming rise in air pollution in Delhi and the associated health and environmental hazards.
